Firearms mod less OP than Brita?
Hi everyone! In my current 10 years later run with night sprinters, I have enabled Brita's weapons mod.

The problem is that a lot of zombies carry pistols and ammunition, so I find it too OP.

Is there any other weapon mod more vanilla friendly?

I've seen B41 mentioned a few times that improves gunplay without a cataclysmic addition of weaponry.
Although I don't find that many weapons on an initial infection style playthrough, perhaps the longer you get into a playthrough, the more likely your going to encounter "survivor" zeds who would all be packing by the tike 10 years was up

It is a regular apocalypse run but with night sprinters and the 10 years later mod, with 12 months later start and instantaneus water and power shut off.

At day 20+ survived the loot is sufficient to open an armoury...

Bizarre, obvious question, have you checked the Loot settings?
Also while this shouldn't have yo be the solution, there are a few Loot rarity mods that can be tweaked to fix this, don't ask me which ones though, cannot remember for the life of me.

Standard apocalypse (rare). I have not messed up with Brita's settings, but I do not want to test it, considering that it is also on a per weapon basis IIRC.

For this run, I want that level of loot, but less firearms (especially pistols) / ammo.

Firearms B41 does not currently modify the loot tables for zombies or for vehicles (so they will not include the new weapons or ammo - although it may be possible for some of the vanilla weapons to spawn with the new attachments such as silencers due to the templates for the weapon loadouts having been modified) - and it also doesn't have proper burst fire like Brita, it uses the vanilla mechanism, which is obviously less OP

so that might work better for you (is also a bit more of a vanilla+ weapon selection, but does include silencers which people may find a little OP - also includes ammo cans)

also - if you want firearms to be more challenging - use the hardcore reload mod :-)

there is a Brita patch too

silencer is not little op.
its gamebreaking.

depends how it is balanced in terms of sound and accuracy - and your character's accuracy - and how high your zombie settings are - if you get swarmed a silencer ain't gonna help lol - but i take your point that the silencer can reduce the possibility of getting swarmed - but it is fun to go sniping - and it is a choice to use - plus game settings can make it less OP

is all a choice - and that is a wonderful thing ;-)

plus the OP is already using Brita, so they already have silencers and genuine automatic burst fire - so anything less is technically less "game breaking" :-)

i had few runs with silencers or brita, dont matter how you adjust it, it is just gamebreaking.
you oneclick all zeds on your screen edge without them reacting.
but yes each to their own. i got bored really fast with those mods.

i totally understand :-)

but i do think both the silencers and the game settings can be tweaked to make it less boring - but you may need to dig into the code to tweak the silencers (easier to do with Firearms B41 probably - plus it has a silencer effectiveness sandbox setting)

but yes - still makes things somewhat less hardcore - although more realistic - hence why the horde settings need to be turned up to insane+++ to counteract it - those silencers didn't help them in The Walking Dead once the herds got moving lol :-)

i always play on insane.
but imagine fighting this with just melee weapons.

the only way to counteract silencers is extra rare loot mod imo.
you wont have enough ammo to shoot and probably find no silencer/weapons ever.

yeah - making silencers very rare, and ammo relatively rare should help - plus you can modify the zombie population settings to be even more insane than the "insane" setting - you can make them respawn huge, with massive multipliers, and quickly

but still - i take your point :-)

yep maximum is 16.0 pop. 4.0 pop start with 4.0 peakday.

lol - can set respawn hours to 1 and respawn days to 1 too :-D

but yeah - lag will hold you back

so definitely worth seeing about nerfing silencer efficiency - as well as making them make guns jam more frequently - and reduce accuracy over distance and reduce power etc

or not use them of course

lots of choices :-)
