Although I don't find that many weapons on an initial infection style playthrough, perhaps the longer you get into a playthrough, the more likely your going to encounter "survivor" zeds who would all be packing by the tike 10 years was up
It is a regular apocalypse run but with night sprinters and the 10 years later mod, with 12 months later start and instantaneus water and power shut off.
At day 20+ survived the loot is sufficient to open an armoury...
Also while this shouldn't have yo be the solution, there are a few Loot rarity mods that can be tweaked to fix this, don't ask me which ones though, cannot remember for the life of me.
Standard apocalypse (rare). I have not messed up with Brita's settings, but I do not want to test it, considering that it is also on a per weapon basis IIRC.
For this run, I want that level of loot, but less firearms (especially pistols) / ammo.
so that might work better for you (is also a bit more of a vanilla+ weapon selection, but does include silencers which people may find a little OP - also includes ammo cans)

there is a Brita patch too
its gamebreaking.
is all a choice - and that is a wonderful thing ;-)
you oneclick all zeds on your screen edge without them reacting.
but yes each to their own. i got bored really fast with those mods.
but i do think both the silencers and the game settings can be tweaked to make it less boring - but you may need to dig into the code to tweak the silencers (easier to do with Firearms B41 probably - plus it has a silencer effectiveness sandbox setting)
but yes - still makes things somewhat less hardcore - although more realistic - hence why the horde settings need to be turned up to insane+++ to counteract it - those silencers didn't help them in The Walking Dead once the herds got moving lol :-)
but imagine fighting this with just melee weapons.
the only way to counteract silencers is extra rare loot mod imo.
you wont have enough ammo to shoot and probably find no silencer/weapons ever.
but still - i take your point :-)
im crazy but not Thaaaat crazy. also it lags in lategame for me :(
but yeah - lag will hold you back
so definitely worth seeing about nerfing silencer efficiency - as well as making them make guns jam more frequently - and reduce accuracy over distance and reduce power etc
or not use them of course
lots of choices :-)
