how to explore Louisville?

got tired of the country side and really want to explore the big city. but last time i tried it i barely made it pass the hospital down the road from the military checkpoint before i got ambushed by a massive zombie wave and killed. how do you veterans get into Louisville?

Don't go there until you have a car and a sledgehammer, you can use it to destroy the fences. Otherwise use a Louisville spawn point mod.

1. You pass through a Military Checkpoint through a reason. Praise The Lord And Pass The Ammunition because you're gonna need it

2. Places like the Hospitals are considered Challenge areas. Do not approach unless you wish to jump a few thousand kills.

3. Always have an escape ready when entering an unexplored area. It's easier than you think to get cornered

4. Do not be afraid to GTFO. Loot lasts forever. Your life doesn't. Know your limits

I'm currently doing a no respawn play where I got myself to Louisville as fast as possible for a new challenge. Be careful. In general I've not found the population to be a huge challenge, but there are buildings (like the hospital) that are just infested. Be careful, have a reliable vehicle nearby for a quick getaway and don't be too afraid of going loud with firearms. There's something very satisfying about facing a swarm of charging zombies with a shotgun and a pack full of shells.

I generally go with strong and fitness so I can run for ages. Fences and widows are your best friend when running from the horde. Also learned to bail out of my car if I know I'm about to get swamped, because once 2 or 3 are at your door and you get out, it's munch time.

Straight up the main road / military checkpoint is not a good idea. Had some luck before going through the train / shipping yard.

Drive up down into LV find the stadium, near the stadium there is a Turbo building the car company in this game. Across the road is a small parade of Shops including a video store. Above the video store is a perfectly safe safehouse. You can rock up there use the fences to shake any zom. And make your way to the back of the video store. Now you will be in a great position to explore LV
