Project Zomboid

We need ladders
We need ladders in order to: get to a house, destroy its stairs, use a ladder to climb down, only humans can use a ladder. There's a mod for this, but it doesn't work. Ropes usually tend to rip or dissapear after some time, which is actually just great.

I would like to see a 10' ladder that you could lean against a house to either access a window or second floor, but that could be knocked over resulting in a fall off the ladder if a zombie smacked it or something

Straight from the Max Brooks Survival guide, it really ought to be in the game lol

Would be cool to be able to pull the ladder up with you on to the second floor with you so you can sleep and craft soundly.

I agree with this. Portable ladders would be fantastic.

I imagine a survivor would rather use a sheet rope with an improvised grappling hook attached.
Much easier to transport than a ladder.

We should be allowed to go full Jackie Chan and use it to fight with.

Grappling hooks are...overestimated. You've got to throw it up there, then hope it actually lands correctly to hook onto something, then hope whatever it is latched onto is firm, and won't give way when you start climbing.

Not to mention it is infinitely easier to climb a ladder than it is to climb a rope, even without carrying a generator and 20 million spears.

Its an option, but come on: its ridiculous to think that nobody had a ladder in the whole map. Same goes for finding a shovel or can oppeners - but we got mods for them.

Grappling hooks are definitely problematic in the real world. They have a nasty habit of coming unhooked right when you're reaching the top. I like the idea of ladders, although if they made the game too easy it would be a problem. Imagine if players just make an invincible watchtower to snipe zombies from safely, what's even the point of playing now?

I also tought about it. In resume, I've two opinions: first, its realistic. You can't argue against reallity. Secondly, one day you would need to get out to bring some food. And food would become scarce if you don't move around to pick stuff, farm, etc. That's when you die - specially because them zombies could be around your ladder and now you got a huge problem on how to come down.

people always think batman with grappling hooks while forgetting his hook pierces stone buildings and anchors itself with a motorized cable

The answer is mods. Always mods.

The base game SHOULD have ladders. And make them destructible so zombies chasing you up one can break them below you.

I believe that's the mod the TO was talking about in his first post.
At least the comments to the mod say it's not working anymore.
I'm using the mod and the last time I played (which is a while ago) my character would fall down at random times and hurt himself.
Even then it was still quite buggy.
