Water barrels and faucets // how to?
So every now and then I read about some sort of glitch/trick whatever i should call it that allows to feed faucets with a rain collector barrel on top?

Can anyone explain how that actually works cause so far I havent been able to figure it out

Its not a bug or a trick, its an on purpose game element.

Ground floor, place a counter with a sink in it.
Floor above, place a rain barrel, one tile off to the side of the sink.

B = Barrel
S = Sink
x = building

The barrel must have rainwater in it for this to work. So you may have to wait until after it rains. And if you empty the rainbarrel, the faucet will no longer work until it rains again.

Thank you! Is it correct that the tainted water from the barrel will be purified once you get it from the connected sink?
Yes, its true. It has a filter on it, like my sink in real life does. Nobody likes city water. lol

Wow I had no idea that you could do that :D Thanks
I find it weird how you can't do simple things in this game. But having a unmodified rain barrel on a unmodified roof somehow connects it to the sink. Okay.

Thanks for the info tho, will be trying it out.
With the skill requirements to build rain barrels and to successfully move sinks, it's assumed your making those modifications.
i dont really understand how it works , coud somebody send a screenshot of how it works ?
Love this idea, getting ready to set this up. Just one question and praying for a "yes" here. Does this only work with placed faucets? For example, in Rosewood I'm using a loft for a base and have built stairs to access the roof, can I just put the barrels offset above the sinks in the loft below and the faucets will start drawing the water after shutoff? (If this is a no, can that get implemented please?) :steamhappy:
