You could add them on the inner side, too, but as bar tiles need more wood to be built than walls i switched to build double walls.
Walls can be plastered, too, making them 2 times stronger than a simple wall (checked that).
The bar tiles worked as an extra defense though but i think double (plastered) walls are the best way to build a perimeter.
For windows i used bookcases on the in- and outside.
Iam not sure if this is correct!
Built 2 walls and plastered 1 of it.
Then i took down both of them with an axe.
Normal wall: 10 hits
Plastered: 20 hits
My character had max. carpentry skill and had gained 1 point of strengh.
