and by that meaning no support for my arms that ment as a punishment or traning thing in the military i know my dad was in the marine core so i know how it works

It's not really a weight limit so much as it is an abstract representation of weight and general encumbrance.

i.e
Sure you might be able to lift the weight of a dozen hammers but without a backpack it's still probably somewhat difficult to carry them.

i think it's kg
Umbra Animo Aug 30, 2016 @ 8:37pm
to kajima i dont think so if i am right then the orginzied skill world effect it it does not and what about nails 100 raw nails would be harder to carry then one box but the box add to the limit while 100 nails do not

Since this is 'supposed' to be based in Kentucky, it should be pounds. I would not be surprised if the European developers used kg. Especially since the date was displayed incorrect (as European) until I gave them the code necessary to be able to switch between European and US display.

But, I believe Kajin is more correct, its more a representation of weight and general encumberance values. Otherwise, I could not see any rhymn or reason for the weight numbers used.

and whis some resarch the main who for even sake i would say is avarage height for gender and strength would be able to carry more then 100 pounds

You can also have a bigger inventory by starting with or grinding up a character with high strength. I actually always choose one of the strong traits just because I find having that (and the organized trait) make it way easier to manage inventory for an on the go survivor :)

This is correct and I'll also add that it also takes into accpount how awkward an object is. For instance something light but perhaps would still be awkward will take up more inventory than something that's heavy but small. It's kind of weird until you get used to it.

Start walking around when your character is over encumbered. It slows you down a bit but will help level up your strength faster. Basically the in-game weight bench :)

Like I said, I personally take a trait for it at the start, as I want a strong character for many reasons. Leveling up any skill without the exp multiplier in sandbox turned up takes a while as well and in a realistic game like PZ I would only expect them to make leveling up strength take time, just like it does in real life. If you keep your character active, carry heavy loads and eat healthy foods in game you'll start seeing real progress though :)

ok but still 12 is way to small even with backpacks
DeadlyDanDaMan Aug 30, 2016 @ 9:51pm
Project Zomboid uses it's own unique weight system. It doesn't use lb's or kg's. Everything is balanced around this unique system.

Then take the Strong or Stout perks to increase your carrying capacity. You can get it up to 22 capacity I believe, with the Strong perk and max Strength. And yes, you can make a build to start that way. I've done it several times. But you are going to have to make sacrifices in other area's. That's the whole point. The Dev's don't want people to have Superman characters that can do everything. But if you REALLY want to do that, there are several ways to easily cheat the system and make a God character. But honestly, that just makes the game incredibly boring.

I can confirm this :) And when you take the organized trait on top of being max strength it's crazy how much you can carry and how much extra space you get to work with in your bags/contaners.

There's a few "bad traits" that I have no problem with like high thirst, hearty appetite and slow healer (I'll even take slow reader if I'm playing single player since you can speed up time). I'll pick things that make the game harder and more realistic, so it all works out in the spirit of Zomboid :)

You can easily carry a bat or even a heavy crowbar with chips and some heavier food while wearing your clothes and having bandages ready to go on top of that and still have space for random loot or supplies of your choice. The basics are not hard to carry with the base strength but it you want to start doing real loot runs you're going to need to find a bag, even if it's just the small backpack or a plastic bag.
