what that tells you is, you dont need to eat/drink everytime the moodlets appear.
infact not even the second moddlet does anything really bad.
you can survive without eating for some days.
but if you some kind of OCD guy like myself its very difficult to get over this, that you will run around with some debuffs that wont do anything bad at all.
That makes sense, but the thing is if I have the means to have a full stomach, I'd rather be full, and being full should last longer than an in-game couple hours.
feeling hungry/thirsty, doesnt do anything negative at all. it just a reminder that in the foreseeable fuiture you should eat something.
eating full for healing buff, i do only when i need the healing effect.
in my worlds there is no food :( so i have to ration it and feel hungry all the time.
but if im sick or scratched etc, thats the only time i go for full stomache/heal buff.
Mod is worth a use to just get a idea of how it works and then remove as it changed how i now manage eating and drinking.
I never tested it.
When your weight slides down somewhere in the 30's I recall. (Been a long long time since)
you will start to take a damage spiral down to death. 35 perhaps?
This is a great mod to monitor some background mechanics that effect your character.
An awesome learning tool.
I found this was too short and I was constantly eating even when full due to just how short the days were. Increased it to 2 hours and I ate the same amount of food but they were more spaced out so I could actually do stuff
I think you just unrealistically die of "hunger" pretty fast compared to how long it takes IRL.
I would hazard to guess you're playing on survival or apocalypse. The time dilation is pretty extreme. You should go to sandbox and switch it up to 2-4 hour days and you'll see a world of difference.
Hunger rate of a meal also matters. Eat something with 2,000 calories and a hunger reduction of 100 and you won't need to eat again for a full 18-24 hours.
A granola bar will keep you well fed for about 2 hours. A roast chicken with tomato, rice, potato's, butter, salt, and pepper will keep you well fed for around 6 hours for a half portion.
Food quality matters. Zombie chef's like myself love cooking in game :)
Peckish don't mean you are hungry, hungry don't mean you need to eat immediately.
When your char is peckish, you "need" to eat 12-13 hunger value, to fill your hunger bar. Everything above that value is pure waste, except:
1: you want some healing rate boost
2: you want some carry weight bonus
3: you want to increase your weight
Hungry moodlet needs 20+1-2 value to be satisfied.
I'd you use Minimal display bar mod, you will gain deep understanding about these moodlets and values. And you will be surprised how much food you wasted previously.
