Bury or Burn Zombies?
Is there any practical benefit to either besides eliminating bodies and cleaning up an area

Yes, avoiding them reanimating, and also not getting the corpse sickness.
Before zombies decayed? Yes, there was a purpose to it, but now that they decay it's not really an issue. Unless the decay time is set for months in stead of weeks a combination of fighting off the roads and moving bodies makes it largely useless. You can just wait for them to go away on your own.

I never remove them since decay also, but I do have the working masks mod.

They can make you sick if you are around them as they decay, but that can be turned off in the options of course.

I only burn the bodies that are around my base since I have ocd, I let the others decay normally. I set decay to like 3 days.

I like to pile em all up away from my base and go by occasionally to harvest maggots.

That's actually a pretty good idea.

I bury corpses of my former characters but burn the general dead. I put them all in one single pile on top of a campfire. Check every body for useful loot and rip up all the clothes for tailoring materials (especially the Leather). Then use a piece of paper on one of the bodies to light the blaze

Depends on settings, like how much of an issue corpse sickness is and how quickly the bodies decay. If they decay slowly and you set corpse sickness to high, especially if population settings are such that loads of zombies are running around for you to kill, then yeah you're going to want to address the issue. However burying is a lot more boring and time consuming than burning. On the other hand you need to be absolutely sure you know what you're doing with fire, this game is predicated on players being made out of jellied gasoline.

Burn is for character that u want to remember.
I never burn zombie. Just pile them somewhere far from base.

I usually pile up zombies near my base then bait any newcomers to that same pile so I don't have to move them very far and burn them once I've done all my looting/ripping because digging 30 graves sounds like a chore. I mean you also learn not to fight them on the roads so you don't end up flipping you car on them or hitting one that decided to stand back up.

With decay set on a fast number (a week or less), I would only take the corpses outside my house to avoid corpse sickness.

I only bury and put a cross above my old character's grave.

Using hydrocraft atm, I carve them up into meat patties and eat em.
It's only fair right?
