What's A Good Base Location?
What places in Knox County do you usually set up in once you get fully established and want to set down permanent roots?

Do you spend your time building a base on a special spot along the river? Fix up the Abandoned Factory outside Riverside and make it your abode? Turn a neighborhood into one giant Compound? Or do you not even bother with any of that and just live out of a Van?

I've lived in so many different homes. It really doesn't matter to much. Ideally I like one near a water source but it's not a deal breaker. The one I've been living in recently for the past couple of play through's is the three car garage house along the Louisville riverside. Over near the stadium. I like the in built garage for working on my cars

I like to stay at this farm in Riverside, it's quite a ways out of town. It's a one story house with two bedrooms and one bathroom. It has a shed outside, a fenced in area to grow crops, and a chicken coop area for future livestock. It's not too far from a water source as there's a river near by, and some woods for foraging things.

I usually setup at a gas station near a river in west point.

I did move into the
three car garage house along the Louisville riverside. But this house have zombie all around. From time to time I get heart attack when I change parts on my car.

Current run I decided to just stay at my spawn house. It small and quite near to small northern church.
Only issue is I let npc spawn too much and I get shot quite often. It more like pvp now.

I use this place here and I’m pretty happy pretty big houses for storage 2 lakes nearby for water and fishing and most importantly no Zombies even if i make noise like turning on Generators or using firearms.

When I'm setup base, I'm choose a building at the very edge of one of the towns (or away from town, but maximum 2-3 hrs on feet distance.

If you're confident in your survivability around lots of zeds, and are able to acquire working vehicles easily, louisville is the best city to setup camp in. lots of areas to explore, and enough loot to last you several life times.

Three story dormitory building in March Ridge. Best base I've ever had. You can find dumbbells and stuff in there, but the best part about it is all the space and the safety after you've destroyed the stairs. Built a rooftop garden too.

It's pretty difficult to take though, so be warned. And the loot inside isn't great other than if you're looking for weight lifting stuff and hiking bags. I haven't been back there in ages, so I don't know if it's changed since I had a base there, but its definitely worth checking out.

I'm quite fond of the storage units on the east side of West Point. Flat roof, decent loot to begin with, fence on three sides, great local loot access, close to the river for fishing, and placed on the map well enough for good access to distant loot too.

Churches.

They're large enough to handle multiple rooms/bigger factions, Usually have parking lots fit for many vehicles. Many have indestructible walls covering ground. Are usually in a non-descript part of town you can easily get to other areas from. Thematic for zombie apocalypse.

My current favorites are the church in Raven Creek near the port and the one in Louisville by the Art History Museum. Both have double high walls and a huge compound (LV needs a bit of built walls to complete). They have great customizability and are near a lot of looting zones. By the time you get to Carpentry 7 you'll have enough materials to do whatever you'd like. All you need to do is survive the zombies, lol. Both are near enough to rivers for fishing when it comes to long-term survival food.

For single players, the amount of time required may be offputting to secure and make it a home. There are smaller churches that work, but I find that I keep gravitating towards those two.

Here's where I stay: https://ibb.co/nM6dhSn
It's a farmhouse in Riverside, it's; secluded, has a farm, a coop, and a shed, and it's near a water source, and it has some woods for foraging.

I tend to pick gated communities. The fences around the houses cant be broken by zombies and the houses are relatively defendable.

Rosewood one, any of the houses here are good aslong as you block the front honestly[prnt.sc]
