How to turn off A large fridge?

I just got generator and I read generator manuel. Now its working but I dont need a fridge. İts consuming fuel and I dont have any vegetables. I have only canned food. How do I turn this off without breaking the fridge?

You cant (without picking it up) but there is a mod on workshop

Without mods, pick it up and put into a storage box. You can get it and place it back when needed.

I dont really trust mods. Sometimes they kill the save.

fair enough, its pretty light though and honestly should be a basegame feature to just rightclick and turn off fridge to be fair.

pro tip , dont use fridges , use 1 square freezer chests , lowest consumption , freezing actually slows down decay to a crawl , unlike refrigerating , and the power consumption per piece is like 0.6 vs a fridges 1.6. (you can slap a double shelf above them for extra storage non perishables)

you can run like 4 freezers for 2 ish weeks on a can of gas.

also put your food in trashbags before putting them in the freezer, taking out a trashbag takes a second, while 20-26 weight takes a good bit.

During winter you dont need to run your freezers just yeet your trashbags outside and save the gas.
