It'll go away.
Honestly I wouldn't worry about it, infection can't kill you (not anymore, anyway), it only slows down healing.
Sterilized bandages help keep infections away, you can make them extremely easily, get some water boiling and you're good to go, if that's somehow not available, disinfectant also works.

Disinfectant really only needs to be applied once on a wound, that is enough to pretty much kill any possible or future infections. but you can also over a bandage in disinfectant as well before applying it to a wound.

Play with deadly infections then smh

Jokes aside, as long as you don't keep a dirty bandage on for too long, it shouldn't get infected again after you disinfect it.

Yeah, should go away a couple seconds after you apply the disinfectant, if it's not going away then I don't know what to tell you.

In game I never use disinfectant anymore, only sterilized bandages, and if you don't leave them on while dirty too long infection shouldn't be a problem. For role playing purposes, I would use disinfectant on the wound until it stopped bleeding, after that sterilized bandages would be enough.
