Do you leave the music active or deactivate it?
From what I see in the version 41.71 they updated the music system or something.

Honestly, the music in this game bothers me a lot. It makes sudden changes, it takes you out of the atmosphere, sometimes it's even annoying... Maybe it's because I'm new and I'm not used to music?

I don't know, I just wanted to ask your opinion about the music, maybe I'll give it another chance.

I turned off the music some time ago: I think it was when I was trying out a deaf character. Now I've had the music turned off for so long that it feels extremely out of place.

I leave it active but on a lower volume.

I may turn it back on one day but I've had it off since last year. I use a mod that adds (irl)music playing radio stations. Plus I like to keep my ears open for grrrrrr's and gurgles I might miss. hehe

For most games of this type, I turn music off. It just feels more real that way.

You can toggle music on/off quickly if you keybind it in the settings. I mostly leave it on, but if there is a moment I need to concentrate and hear for zombies I will quickly toggle it off.

Music off first thing I do in any game. Nothing breaks immersion more than a full orchestra playing instruments in the bg while yr in tense moments.

If anyone knows any good horror movies not ruined by fake scary music please let me know.

I think the music is well done but I typically shut off any in game music after a few hours play. Mostly due to it becoming redundant hearing the same music over and over. In a lifetime of gaming I don't recall a single game where I actually left music on after a lot of play.

Zomboid is a rare game for me in that i am still playing with sound on after close to a thousand hours of play. Most games I eventually just listen to my own music while I play but I feel it is too dangerous to not have game sound effects on while playing PZ.

i turn it off, I want to hear my surroundings

We're probably hearing things, but our group has convinced itself the ambiance will slip in subtle zombie cues to purposely be suspenseful.

deactivated it for most of my nearly 600 hours, love the combat music, but i hate the rest

I installed 2 music Mods one of them makes me play cassettes while driving cars and i can listen to AC/DC for an example

Left off for 2 reasons.

1: Situational awareness. Too many ambient tracks that mask real-world noise. I like to hear what is going on around me.

2: I use the True Music mod, tapes & vinyl are enjoyed in the car and at home.

The actual PZ OST is solid though, "maybe we can win this" is sublime. There are several versions now, all give me the same feeling.
