It all boils down to panic. Ya u can use pills blah blah. Its a hastle. And whatever class u picked will fall off in its usefullness the more u play.
All this said. I ignore panic and have zero issues. Just watch ur moodles
Veteran isn't better than cats eyes, dexterous, wakeful etc. Unless you're making a build without them.
Considering I've played Agrophobic (non-gun build at time) and still used guns and got plenty of kills.
Panic goes down over time, pills, etc.
But really, I don't notice the panic. Plus panic just flat out removed boredom anyway.
Panic is one of those few moodles I consider "useless" or too weak to be noticeable. Maybe if you're a data nerd you'll go "OMG GUYS MY CRIT CHANCE WENT DOWN BY 9%!!!!"
To which, I say; play with crit disabled. It changes a man.
Personally, I kinda find it as meh. Police officer is better for guns and such.
But I don't want to discourage trying out new things regardless.
Wakefuls only good for single player. Also easily ignored
A vet can spend easily atleast 3 pts with negative traits.maybe somewhere btween 30-35 pts
And every neg trait taken can be easily ignored by someone who knows how to make a meta build. Cus chances are if u are playing a meta build you are good enough to play it.
What build do you use? Let's compare. 😉
I will add the only downside to a meta vet build is deciding on athletics or not wich affects some pos and negative traits one would take over the others.
I feel that most negative traits are best avoided. They made my playthrough that much harder. Only a few from the list seems safe when you're new and probably that a few more become manageable / trivial with proper experience.
The traits worst sin is that they don't explain exactly what they do. Their description should list the exact effects and their percentages.
Using supplies to counteract/remedy things that traits can do sounds great on paper, but the reality is, supplies are limited, especially on higher loot rarities.
I can tell you now, weak stomach is free points since it only 'hurts' when you eat RAW or DANGEROUS food, which should be clear that doing that anyway is bad.
Underweight/Very Underweight is also good since in this game you can gain like upto 3 weight a day (max), but only LOSE 1 weight a day. In otherwords, Obese is a trap.
And you lose the effects of underweight once you get to around 80 weight.
Like for a good example, High thrist is picked ALOT by experienced players and considered free points. (200% Thirst), because Water is easy to come by even when power goes out since some base near lakes, which only require you to heat up water to purify it.
But a trait like Sunday driver WILL cripple you. Like, I can tell you from experience, it is NOT fun to drive at all with it, and don't dare hit a Zombie, you'll struggle and hordes will come.
I know wiki says it's 1.3% | 2.3% | 3.9% | 5.2% crit reduction (per level), perhaps may of been changed?
But honestly, crit chance don't really affect me. Maybe I'm just the guy whose too use to no crits or even just "Good" (Not like a god gamer, but y'know not trash.)
And yeah, Spears won't feel anything, they practically melt things and god forbid you max it out and maintenance (and carpentry so it has full durability on craft.

i only play multi so fk sleep traits
u could swap underweight for slow learner to keep ur 9 athletics. but i only recently realised having underweight and athletic keeps u under the 9 lvls u want to hit. but slow learner sucks. its a trade off.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, you take short sighted? That is one I just can't take.
