Freezer don't prevent food spoilage
ins't that just annoying that food will start to root after sometime in the freezer ?
this just happens to me(45 days in game ) after i move some food arround and half the meat i looted goes from fresh to rotten in 4 hours...
i think freezer need to stop food spoilage instead of slowing down

Yeah, frozen food shouldn't spoil

Yeah, in the real world food does go bad after too long in a freezer, but only in the sense that the taste and texture degrades and it becomes boring, it doesn't ever become dangerous or inedible.
Entropy happens.

I always turn sandbox settings food rotting slow and refrigeration effectiveness high , seems to help a tadpole. :decaf:

Frozen food, and even canned goods for that matter, all eventually spoil.

You guys oughta be restocking constantly. Farm, fish, loot, whatever.

Sounds about right. You shouldn't dilly-dally with groceries, homie. Think of all the melted icecream!

It's true, once I stuck some eggs in the freezer and ten years later ate them and they were totally fine. Anyway if you'll excuse me I need to go change the plastic bag I now poop into...

In the real world you mean?

If it's frozen the quality will degrade substantially, but it will never get you sick.

Both, actually. Freeze a slab of chicken for 15 years and you won't have a great time.

Nonetheless, a freezer isn't a "fill it, forget it" sort of thing. If you want true longterm storage, you've either gotta prepare it or just keep restocking.

There's a reason even freeze-dried foods from wartimes have expiration dates.

Yes, it turns into disgusting mush. It won't get you sick though. Which is a concern in a possible starvation scenario.

I can only guess the power dipped or the food started to thaw when you were moving it around containers.

The frozen stat already stops food spoilage. It won't prevent thawing foot from spoiling if it was already about to, however.
I'm 99% sure I've had food turn spoiled many times while frozen the whole way.

Yep. Solid advice.

Also, there is a middle status when things go from "fresh frozen" to just "frozen". This is time to start making big batches of soups and stews with said items and freezing them, it massively extends the amount of time things last.

Throw it into composter, add few worms, use the result to fertilize cabbage and catch a fresh rabbit :)

Same here, all the veggies/meat I put in the freezer day one are now rotting after 2months in-game. I wish there is a "Realistic freezer"mod that can assure at least 2 years of conservation - but i couldn't find one. Kind a pain in the ass when you play solo

Yes I've been looking for that as well. There is a sandbox setting to increase the power of the freezers, but it increases the fridge by the same amount.
