Sink and washing machine plumbing question
Hi, as the title goes. I brought in a sink to my base along with a washing machine. I do have a few water collectors on the roof. I have a wrench and try to plumb the sink and washer but there is no option for me to do so. The sink gives me nothing and the washer says I need a water source but no option to plumb. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong here?
Any would be greatly appreciated.

I followed this guide my first time. Some people have said that it's now okay to put a rain collector barrel on the tile directly above the sink.

Did you build your own base? If so, is the sink surrounded by 4 walls?

Sink must be fully enclosed so that it's considered indoors, rain barrel must be one floor up and one tile to the side (or possibly directly above? Haven't tested that but to my knowledge it has to be offset one tile).
You might need a pipe wrench? Last time I plumbed something I had both.
You need a pipe wrench
The rain barrel can be directly above the sink. I know that because I thought that it HAD to be on the tile directly above (and only on that one tile) for a very long time.

I didn't even know you could connect more then one rain barrel to a single sink either, I just learned that recently (facepalm moment... i'd put a different sink on every surface I could, with a single rain barrel directly above it)

If you're having issues, remove the sink and add it right back again, and see if the plumb option appears.

I claimed a warehouse as my safehouse. Its 2 floors with the second being a catwalk. The sink I brought in is on the catwalk. The washing machine is on the bottom level. My rain barrels are on the roof however not right above the sink but in the corner. Maybe that is my issue?

I have a pipe wrench in my inventory when I try to plumb. I also tried equipping it as well.

I tried picking it back up and setting it multiple times and did not work.

The rain barrel is 2 floors up from my washing machine. Does that mean its to far to plumb?

You can? When did this change? It wasn't all that long ago that I tried plumbing 8 barrels to one sink and it wouldn't do it. There was no option to plumb the barrels after the first and the sink only drew from a single barrel.

Everything below the rainbarrel has to be in a valid room. It won't work if it's outside .etc.

You will run into problems with the second floor of the warehouse since when you build in the open area, it's not considered indoors. You'd probably have to build a full room with door around it to close it in.

That explains why my bedroom addition is "outside". I have walls but never completely closed them. Ill have to try this asap!

Also my sink is in a closed space so there shouldn't be any issues right?

The placement of the barrels has to be on the second floor directly neighboring the sink or on the tile above it (<- I tried this one out today, it works).

The link I posted has pictures.

I'd double check the placement of the barrels just to be sure; I had an "issue" where a house I was in added roof tiles that extend past the structure of the house, which caused me to place the barrels in the wrong location and I was wondering why the option to plumb wasn't showing.

Good luck.

Thank you for clarifying! Ill get to it and hopefully it will all work :)
