Metal Bars vs Metal Sheet vs Wood Barricade

I got a game as a metalworker that has taken off. I just found welding mask and propane torch and have a second story safehouse that I enter only by sheetrope above a non residential in wp. And I had saved up some metal sheets and bars from a mass collection I did a week earlier. But now the time comes next time to barricade the downstairs.

I have never played metal working

My question is

To block all windows in the downstairs structure of my base

I should use

Metal Bars or Metal Sheets?

Metal sheets inside and outside the windows. But the main thing is build a fence around the house.

What’s wrong with bars?

Only difference is metal vs wood. Metal has a higher durability.

Because it’s for the downstairs and I don’t actually live in that part I’m not bothered by them seeing inside. I prefer to have the visibility outside. I will probably try the metal bars. Maybe I can shoot through them would be more useful.

Hopefully the cost of the visibility makes them more durable than sheets?

metal bars inside and outside is my go to if i can get the bars as you can see and shoot through them while they protect your windows

Bars in and out, can shoot and look through them at any point for peeking via curtains.

I see bars are also expensive.

But yes bars seem like the better option.

think of how useful it is to repair the trunk of a car with sheets.

Bars are abit hit and miss on car wrecks. Maybe i should dismantle a lamp post

Just add bars to the outside. You don't need to do inside, and honestly you don't really need to do the outside either if you have cleared the zombies in your local area. It's just nice to have for the occasional straggler. Bars allow you to see out of where as metal sheets do not.

Metal sheets and bars have 5k per so if you double barricade you get 10k total.

Each wood plank you have up will give you 1k protection so if you have four on each side it's a total of 8k.

But again, so long as you've cleaned out your local area barricades are largely not needed

i am trying to keep the local hordes alive for PVP purposes. othewise anyone on ground level can fire off a gun and expect no incoming from all directions. I can do that on my second story but an attacker wouldnt be able to fire up at me without having to deal with zom

8K vs 10K makes wood barricades the better option for the economy. But i guess you have to replace every board as and when it breaks, While the metal is just one application per side. But i guess with wood you can tell how far a long the damage is.

I probably wont get enough bars for a complete job inside and out. But i will bar the entire outside and prbably wood board the interior. Save the sheets for stuff. at the end of the metal working run for the ultimate Bar Gate, im gonna need more bars anyhow so i should probably limit my usage of them.

The bar is also required for the metal wall frame. So to be honest as bars for a window i am hoping they are pretty low maintenace. Its not like i will be throwing mega hordes at them to tare them to shreds. Just to delay a wanderer from causing destruction.

I feel like a winner is

Bars On the inside and two planks on the outside. 4 if you want the visibility gone. But I already put my bars on the exterior when really they should be the last thing to be damaged not the first as there’s no guarantee I can replace them unlike wood
