locked safe inside a police station in west point
Hey all, how do I open the locked safe inside a police station? I'm quite sure it was added with the latest stable update. I have a key to the armory but this key does not open the safe. Or maybe it's just a cosmetic object, like an atm?

Do you have a screenshot of it, I'm not sure which one you're talking about

Is there anywhere that explains this? Seems odd to add a safe that we can't open...

The only explanation is Zomboid dev priorities, I guess. They added the tiles to the game but they haven't gotten around to making 'em work properly - it's just laying out the ground work for a future big patch, probably. There's a whole bunch of new stuff fleshing out the game, but none of it currently works, but is likely to in the future - although I have no concrete proof they'll make them work, surely they plan to.

There's these big double glass + metal cabinets in hospitals and such now, and there's a trough or metal water bath I spotted in a Rural Supply the other day, these things have no collision so that says they're unfinished to me - pretty sure I even encountered ATMs which had no collision, couldn't be picked up and couldn't even be dismantled for Electrical XP and a load of money, so I imagine those are unfinished as well.

I spotted that old timey safe too somewhere, but it had no collision if I recall correct and couldn't be interacted with, which is odd because it'd be such a fun container item for players to have, and they surely know that. The Blackwood mod has a safe you can use to store stuff in it, and it's the only reason I bother installing that mod lol.

They also mentioned in one of their patch notes they're planning on making multi-tile objects connect to each other, presumably stuff like dumpsters and metal shelves and other things will count as one object instead of two once they do this, simplifying stuff a great deal. Hopefully. So that's possibly something they're planning on combining - expect / hope a future update that adds double tiles and enables all the new stuff in one go. Maybe.

It was the same with those green army boxes, and I think those double tall gun lockers. They released purely visual, but got patched to be interactable and movable. I think.
