Quit to desktop.
Set your computer's display settings to 1920x1080.
Re-launch the game.
Set to fullscreen mode again.
Now, fullscreen will go to 1920x1080 instead.
This is the only fix I've found so far.
This is me uninstalling, and the developers are lucky I bought this years ago when I had a 1080p display. If I had bought this game today it would absolutely be getting returned this very moment I am typing this.
You got my money, but fix your damn game please. This is insane.
Even with all the options checked to enlarge font sizes, it's still difficult to read - and I want to play at 1080p or 1440p - NOT 4K.
This needs a fix.
mentioning this just for what it's worth, i have a 60" 4k tv i use as a display and recently set up two monitors in addition to the TV. two displays on my gpu and one on integrated graphics. it took me about 45 minutes to get them working properly after i'd spent probably over an hour prior assembling and customizing my setup to allow me to mount everything together. a significant portion of the time spent attempting to arrange my displays properly i stumbled across many threads of people with 4k displays having similar issues to mine, acting in similar manner to droaan
one big difference between myself and these other people who were requesting support, seems to be that i just tried things until i either gave up or got it to work. in addition to that, after i had these extra monitors set up, i decide to mess with pz settings to see if i can get a playable borderless windowed version to work, and i did! in 4k, with an upscaled UI, because i just put the time in to either get what i wanted or concede and use 1080
in all honestly i'm pretty sure the reason nobody wants to play in 4k is because when you're too far away to easily read the text it's quite a bit more difficult to play the game. understandable, but don't blame the devs for your wonky config and poor eyesight. it's been said so many times already that the game wasn't meant to be played on large displays, the fact it doesn't really work right is no surprise regardless of the game's age
the amount of entitled and demanding people that have hounded pz's community - not even for 4k support, but frankly just the sub-optimal scaling - really just leads me to believe the people who have these advanced and expensive displays are extremely pompous, and have no respect for the game, its community, or its excellent developers who work so hard to give us pz.
Its those 24 inch 4k screens that are the issue here.
