Change character name in multiplayer?

I am trying to change my character's name in multiplayer, not the username. In debug under player stats the option is grayed out, the only option it will give me is to change weight. Tried going into the game filers but could not figure out how to change just player name. How do I change the character's name (ex. Kyle Reese)

The server owner would need to go to the save folder of the server and edit the players.db file found there with a database editor. In there are the character names saved and can be edited.
Other than that I dont think there is another way.
