Weapons that are worth repairing
Wood Axe.

That's it. That's the whole list.

Maybe Axe if you haven't found Wood Axe, yet, but that's it.

And only because you need something to chop down wood.

In all seriousness, though, are there any other weapons that can be repaired and are worth repairing (in terms of cost to repair)?

I have yet to find one.

Wood Axes, yeah you might be right. Everything else can be gotten in large quantities, and stuff like the Fire Axe is infinite anyway.

Though that also means repairing the Wood Axe is kinda pointless because you can just use Hand Axes or Fire Axes for your tree work, which are in plentiful supply - or even forage up some stones and make stone ones.

Maybe the Machete, Pickaxe and Pitchfork then, those are decent weapons with sort of limited, rare quantities which are worth keeping around. Can the Machete even be repaired? I know the Katana can't, but I'm not a Long Blades user myself.

To that extent, possibly a Machete Spear or something of that ilk, I know spears took a knock in power recently due to the weight changes, but they're still probably pretty good in a fight even without having low weight on 'em.

Sledgehammers if you're doing massive construction work and you only have one of them. They have insanely good condition loss rate, but it still wears down if you're destroying like 200+ pieces of whatever to make room for a project or something. Probably.

Gym stuff like barbells and dumbbells maybe? I dunno if they can even be repaired or used as a weapon, and even if they can you can probably exercise just fine with a 1% condition barbell with the same efficiency as a 100% condition barbell, so repairing it is probably not necessary unless for some reason you want it at 100% condition for your mental wellbeing or something.

I never seem to find many Baseball Bats, but it's not like I check many sporting good stores, I only find them in Bars when I'm scrounging for alcohol and cigarettes - so maybe they're not too rare...but they're a good weapon. Worth repairing a Nail Bat if you've made one so it lasts longer, possibly?

So basically nothing is worth repairing, making stuff like wood glue and duct tape have no value, which also means everything is worth repairing, because stuff like wood glue and duct tape aren't worth hoarding. In theory.

In practice I'll horde every scrap of repair material I find and have every Axe I could wish for but still use a Crowbar anyway.

Wood Axe has the best durability of all axes and I believe it's role is just to chop wood because of its durability and damage to wood.

Other axes (except maybe Axe) I think you're just better off just using them for killing, IMO.

As far as plentiful in supply, I agree with Hand Axe, but I've only found two Axes (Riverside) and they were both on Zombies. Maybe just bad luck.

Still, I think you'll burn through Hand Axes if you use them for chopping wood because they deal low damage to wood.

Sledgehammers can be repaired? Man, I've been using one and the option to repair never shows up, so I just figured it can't be repaired.

I didn't know about Machete, either, but I just figured it couldn't because (I think) it's a strong weapon, like the Katana, and the devs thought it would be imbalanced.

I actually have a Machete, but I've never bothered to use it. I like Spears and Short Blunt (for not tearing holes into good clothes that zombies are wearing).

Garden Fork isn't bad, but you're better off saving your repair materials on weapons with better condition and condition-lower chance. Besides, Crafted Spear does a similar job and, despite being fragile, you can make a lot of them for cheap.

Honestly I've never tried repairing a Sledgehammer either really. I guess if you can't then strike them off the list of potential weapons to save repair stuff for, lol.

Wood Axe is a good weapon if you're a Lumberjack since it swings quite quickly, but at the same time it will exert you heavily even with high Athletics, so there is that. It's a powerful one shot one kill weapon with high Axe skill and Strength though, but not good at tackling large hordes in prolonged engagements.

Yeah I've only ever chopped trees with a Hand Axe in emergencies or during the hobo mode of the early game really. I don't know if it's just me or what but Wood Axes have always been rarer than the regular Axe in all of my playthroughs, plus (as far as I know) only Hand Axes and Fire Axes can be found sticking into zombies, but maybe I'm wrong on that. I just never seem to have many Wood Axes lying around.

If the Wood Axe is the best for durability though than that makes it more economical for using repair materials on it, you get more mileage I guess. Fire Axes do seem to wear out pretty fast in my experience, but then again I think my Maintenance skill has never been higher than 2 so that might have something to do with it lol.

I thought the Garden Fork was a good spear type weapon, but I guess I could be wrong. I've never really used spears, it's just kinda been word of mouth that the Garden Fork is a kind of "sleeper weapon" that feels like it'd be terrible but it's actually pretty good. Maybe it's just good while your ability to make decent, long lasting spears is limited by your Carpentry and Maintenance skill?

I honestly can't remember the last time I repaired a weapon, actually. Maybe I repaired my Fire Axe once when I was lacking spares with a few uses of Duct Tape? I guess it serves its purpose.
