edit* never tried a mouse trap so dont know the amount those require
You can sort of cheese traps in order to use up the inevitable tiny bits of bait left over: if you have the right-click menu open while your character puts bait in another trap, you can still place the "remaining" amount of bait in a second trap even if it wouldn't be enough to bait the trap otherwise.
For example: a grasshopper has 7 hunger, and could normally bait only one Stick Trap. But if you tell your character to bait one stick trap, then bring up the context menu on a second trap before your character has finished baiting the first (with only one grasshopper in your inventory), you can use the remaining 2 hunger grasshopper chunk to bait the second trap.
Why don't you check the wiki?
Or a video?
You are asking basic questions all the time.
Thanks!
