Are guns shooting past their target for anyone else?
I'm not sure what's causing this but for some reason when I target a zombie with a gun and they highlight green but there's a zombie behind them it's hitting the furthest zombie away from me now, does anyone know what might be causing this?

I'm pretty sure there are major issues with hitbox for range weapons. Surprising nobody else seems to pick up on this, they always seem to default to "it's because your aim skill is too low, or you're panicked, or you're using a pistol, etc etc". If it was just that you wouldn't have all these topics complaining about firearms.

I'm pretty sure the hitbox works properly for me. So ... Git gud, lvl up aim skill, eat beta blockers, etc etc

I can't rule out the possibility it is only me, my hardware and software are both pretty awful to be honest. Still, I wonder...

This is neither useful, helpful, nor respectful, especially considering what the literal developer above said.

Though note guns aim with a cone at the zombie's feet (due it being 2D), so sometimes they're just at the edge of that cone and step out of it. It can happen pretty quickly, depending on the gun.

Guns also have the possibility to chain up to 3 zombies from one successful hit to simulate a bullet passing through one. You should see the zombie flinch slightly if it doesn't kill the first one.
How do guns even work in Vanilla? (Sorry for the "Dumb" Question, it's just the server I play on has Brita's Weapons Overhaul as a basic requirement, and even then Gun's are modded by the host to use larger sound radii.)

The same as Brita, just a lot harder.

Guns need higher skill levels to to viable in vanilla, and are MUCH MUCH harder to use while moving.

So when I'm say you need to lvl up your aim skill, it's disrespectful, but when you say you need higher skill lvl, that's ok...
You can report me again, but what I'm said, it's true.
Shooting is not bugged, hitbox is ok.
All you need to use the proper weapon on your actual skill lvl, you need to decrease your panic lvl. And git gud means to learn all the basics. Example run&gun don't really a good idea, not even on higher skill lvl.

Huh?

what are you talking about?

I said your "git gud" comment was unhelpful. I never said needing higher character aim level was bad. Also the difference is that someone asked to understand what's going on and you said "git gud"

Someone ELSE asked how firearms system even works and I explained it, I never said "git gud"

Git gud is elitist and unhelpful. Also consider the fact that the developer above you quite literally lined out what the problem most likely was, while you just threw in random unrelated advice based on your anecdotal experience.

I also never reported you.

Ok let's take this back to a normal discussion.
I didn't replied to OP, but the guy who said hitbox don't work properly.
EG reply was helpful to OP, but as a community admin, he didn't wanted to answer to the other guy's sarcastic comment.
I did. On my sarcastic way.

Here is that part of the thread.
I'm told there are no issues with hitbox. After that - I'm accept I was sarcastic when I'm told him "git gud" - I'm just told him it's the solution, what he don't accept as solution. Lvl up Aim skill and reduce panic lvl.
You told this was an unhelpful reply.
Seeing from OP. Yes. But I'm still didn't replied to OP, since his question was answered by EG.
Why I'm arguing with you? Bc you told the same (without the sarcastic / elitist "git gud") as me to an another question.
I'm unsubscribe now from this thread, bc I don't want fight here, I'm just trying to make it clean:
We misunderstanding each other.
