The helicopter event worked out perfectly for me!

As we all know this is a game that hates us, but once in a while lady luck smiles.

In my current run I was doing a day nine looting the houses in the suburbs. All the TV shows watched, safe house established, 300 cigarettes......your basic early game stuff done right?

So I am out there, on foot, looking for generators, gas cans and the final touches and I hear the dreaded helicopter. In front of the garage I am looting there is a car. Has gas and a key in the ignition. Thank god.

So I start driving the car slowly from the burbs of Rosedale west towards the drive in and gas station area. Stopping to honk the horn as I could. May as well make the best of it right?

So I do this, and then drive for a bit...and what do I see? A construction truck in the middle of nowhere. Three zeds lurking around and a sledgehammer on the ground. THE GOLDEN GOOSE! So I take a risk and get out and kill the construction crew (sorry dudes) and get the sledge.

At this point I notice the gas is almost on zero, about 4 hours with the copter chasing me.

So I get to the gas station....and I guess the herd had moved to where I was so i had time to fill up the tank and use the copter to pull the herd further into the country. Honking my horn all the way.

The event is over so probably safe to head back "home"

It was one of my worst starts ever too. My favourite safehouse in the gated community of Rosedale was burned down and it took me seven days to find a screwdriver. So luck had been against me.

But this was just magical.

Of course now that I typed this, I will die of food poisoning or something stupid like that.

I was in easter riverside in one of those big houses when the helicopter flew over me, I noticed the sound and ran for the hills only to realize after a few hours that only a handful of zombies had come.

Why I stopped to honk....I had quite a few fans after me. We'll see.

I'm just happy. Usually the copter finds me when I am happy at home reading books. I was pretty much on the edge of town.

I play with a heavy zombie count but no respawn, so if I clear an area it stays clear appart from some occasional visitors.
