Imagine: Oregon Trail, but Project Zomboid

Zomboid has so many well made survival elements in the game that could integrate perfectly into a cool Oregon trail game. Take out the zombies, add in a custom oregon trail map, with npc's in town you can trade with for supplies

I feel like there are some unique roles people could play in a game like this

-COOK (making due with the ingredients you can find, buy, or trade for)

-ANIMAL HANDLER
horse shoeing, managing animal health, feeding them

-REPAIRMAN
Maintaining the condition of the wagon

-HUNTER (Hunting for food of course, could also defend against aggressive animals or potentially npc's like robbers)

-DOCTOR (the oregon trail game is famous for everyone dying from dysentery so this hypothetical game would be incomplete without the constant fear of falling ill, but having a party member fall ill would just make the game more interesting, sacrifices would have to be made)

Alot of this idea would hedge on the addition of animals and NPC's but this would be a great adventure map.

In my mind the game starts you out in the beginning city of Independence Missouri, everyone picks their perks and starting stats which could determine your total starting cash, you purchase your wagon, horses, and supplies, set them all up and set out.

Then you and your friends have to try and make it all the way to Oregon, you could totally leave zombies on too, I guess I just really like the idea of playing zomboid in a much older setting, the limitations sound fun

Zomboid would be fun for most settings I think, would love to see more of it in mods, especially adventure like maps good for a few playthroughs with friends

Might be nice idea for total conversion mod, but that'd be an undertaking.
