Hey. Just getting back into PZ. Is this game still in development? Is there a roadmap? And, will we see official AI survivors in future updates?

Yes, yes, and yes, but it's gonna take however long it takes. They are still updating the game regularly. You'll find the latest build in the beta tab and you can find news here:

For a roadmap, see the pinned "Where're the NPCs?" thread. The latest post. Basically, after animations there will be five NPC-related builds as the last primary features needed before the game hits 1.0. Other misc. features, namely creative mode and the new fire system (plus whatever else the devs who aren't working on NPCs add) will of course also be added.
