As far as I know, even the largest backpack cannot hold an 40p antique oven.
I could place it regardless of the direction from the exhaustpipe.
Actually, the issue is:
You need both the hammer in hand so in main inventory, and also the antique oven, while you have the overall total carry capacity of 49,99.
So if you have a backpack on your back with items, and your hammer is in there, and you have the oven in the main inventory...and say you have in your main inventory 48.9 carry weight shown, you cannot get the 1.5 weight weighing hammer out from your backpack, as you would go over the total über max carry capacity.
So just drop down your backpack on the ground, this should get you some additional weight, and take out the hammer from the backpack. Now it should work.
40 weight is the oven, 1.5 is the hammer. And do not forget all the other stuff you carry with yourself, clothes, weapons backpack.
So hard cap is 49,99 (or something alike almost 50)
You can encounter the same issue by not being able to pick up a freezer. Because you have 11 weight in your main inventory and with the 40 weighing fridge you would go over/reach 50.
