How big of a farm do I need to feed my character?
Basically what it says in the title.

A single one per day is enough?

It should be. Even when left to go to seed (which is the next stage after harvestable and gives seeds back), one crop seems to give at least 5 of the food.

Personally, I like to plant and rotate all the crops for variety and the naturally staggered harvests from each. I find that two of each is plenty. One of each is probably more than enough if you have a running freezer (but you'd want to plant more later in the season for winter).

You really don't need that many but you'll need more if you want to do bulk growing to do other things while the plants sit in your freezers or you're doing trapping

What ive done is close to that i have like a 5x5 thereabouts and try to mix veg and fruit about even , i know what the crop types r mostly by look now..three rain barrels up right now and a few watering cans, and cooking pots for oven boiling the h2o when i cut the generator on, i just check info and re-dig if the plot comes up with the reap, try to sow it asap..veg and fruit bowls with the right combo r good moderate consumption value foods and thd fresh fruit n veg dont go rotten for awhile esp if u fridge em and keep the gen on for awhile when at base, etc.

You can also grab a bulk freezer like the ones outside/inside gas stations and put it on a generator. great for winter if you aren't canning.
