Report a translation problem
1. Your fishing lvl has a huge impact on what you get and IF you can catch it.
Have a low lvl, you might only get small fish or even worse, the line will get wrecked and the fish will get away.
2. If you have a makeshift pole, see if you used Twine or an actual fishing line. The former has less durability and will break easier, although there is no clear indicator ingame for that.
3. During winter you will get less fish. If its rainy, you will get more.
4. Start with spearfishing. Although it has its debuffs, its better to start with the basics and use the actual poles later.
You can fiddle around a little by using the "Fisher" profession and see the actual difference. :)
One last tip: You can slice fish into "filet", yet it will rot way more fast. If you want to keep fish more fresh after the power is gone, keep it scaled.
