Engineer creates bombs, veteran makes use of them- both can also synergize by having the engineer boobytrap something with remote detonated explosives, while the veteran leads the horde with their favorite weapon or noisemaker
The veterans main bonus is the lack of panic problems- allows for much easier control over situations with higher zombies
Our first solid base is usually in the suburbs near a city - bonus points for good fences, water sources, and nearby forests. For Rosewood, we based in the firestation as its near the gas station, has a large backyard for farming, and a good fence. In Muld, we took the corner house near Cortman Medical that has a pond behind it. In Riverside, we barricaded the rich gated community in the bottom right corner.
Engine Quality on Vehicles is randomized up to a maximum of 100, Emergency Service vehicles tend to have the highest quality but the highest engine loudness, when you install a muffler with higher mechanics lvl it decreases the loudness multiplier further. So this is where it helps to have at-least lvl 6 mechanics, I have a 100 engine quality fire dept. bulldash driver and the engine has never stalled once, but I had to completely replace the parts because service vehicles tend to have bad parts or completely busted.
Don't worry about starting farmer, Foraging, Trapping or Fishing. Farming will level incredibly fast without starting exp bonus, foraging and trapping pale in comparison to the powercreep that is Fishing, even at low lvl you can catch 100+ cm pikes as long as you keep using worms, thats a whopping -100 hunger reduction on a single fish.
also wheres a good place to find welder masks in rosewood? i got all the mechanics tools and the propane torch, and im just missin' the damn mask
You can use a towel to mop up blood iirc?
As for the welding mask, there's a car mechanic and a gas station to the north, past the supermarket. If you can't find one there, you'll have to go house to house. I've usually found them in garages and crates in people's houses.
