Whats the main goal on this game?
Hi!

I have never played this game. Is there a goal or something? Or is just "survive as much as you can"?

Looks really nice and i want to try it with friends.

Thank you!

The goal is dying. You just need to make up the story yourself how you and your friend will eventually die while surviving.

I already died 30 times while playing this game for a week. But everytime I die I learn something new and I'm coming back with a bigger reportoire surviving skills.

its a sandbox game with a lot of sandbox setting to make the world you want to play. its pretty much a sims type game with long term world changing survival like seasons and decay. It is a very hard game until you learn how to stay alive and once you do that there even more layers as time goes on.

Toilet... 'party'... sheet... rope... I'm trying to *wrap* my head around this but... So far, no dice.
iforgot the * . * after toilet party sorry for my english not native lang
The story of the survival kind of writes itself. For example, you want to go to Louisville. The bridge is blocked by 4 or 5 car wrecks! Now you are exploring the map looking for welding tools. Now you need a car with gas to reach the city and food and weapons to survive there. Having a big goal to reach creates many small "quests" to get there

The interesting twist is when your character dies, you make a new one that spawns in the same map, meaning you can try to locate your previous character's stash and/or dead body for loot. It's an interesting mechanic.

Success is where I get lost on goal. Success being establishing a safehouse somewhere clear of zombies with plenty of resources and every possible book and other item you could want or need, ready for winter, and nothing to do but build ridiculous catwalks and decks around all the local buildings. That's when boredom hits and the stupid really begins, like deciding I need a lot more than 3 really good cars or wanting to start a gun collection. I made it to winter in one game and almost to spring in a winter game. It would be cool if there were some multistage map clue quests to follow for unique items or something. Then you could have something less frivolous to die for.

For me. It is about surviving as long as possible. Then, trying to beat my record (as well with friends). Beat our records together.

That is the best way to sum it up.
Exactly.

Grind grind grind. Then get 1 bite from a cumbersome combat system (especially while 'pushing' or using close range melee weapons). Then die to zomboid fever soon after.

I feel that the zombies 'attack' within a millisecond! The bite comes faster than The Flash itself! It drives me nuts; how efficient and agile this 'dead bones' can be.

You would think rotting flesh would have a harder time moving quickly! Nope!

The dead are even faster than my own character; and he is alive with 'healthy' muscles! Haha.

I just bought the game and looks sick. Im going to play with two friends. Thank you all!
Bad combat system...
You simply sux.

I've never had any problems with fighting except for aiming with guns before build 41 but sure, blame the game because as always -> "it's not my fault, cheater/bad mechanics"

Pathetic.

Don't be harsh. I played PZ for several years, most time I can deal couple of zombies even without a weapon but there's always small chances that I found my character pushed in the total wrong direction and got bitten. The combat system needs improvement, at least put some kind of target-locking function in it.

Target locking would help.
