Actually it isn't because different areas have different spawn materials. If I'm in the forest I can't make a sturdy stick to start a fire from nature itself. Having things crafted in multiple ways doesn't mean it will always be a direct affect on drop rates.
It also gives more to the immersive aspects of a game that gives multiple methods to achieve the same results, while creating more agency for the player.
yeah that's not too bad an idea. Making it have less durabiility but still able to achieve the result.
