3 - 5 GB

I set mine to 3.5gb and had no issues. From what I read in a guide, you ideally want the memory set as high as you can while also leaving comfortably enough for your PC to run all the usual OS and background stuff & the game itself.

I've been running a local world and have had to raise it to 12gb as of today since we reached 10 players. Hoping all the car desync and door problems people were having go away and character desync but im afraid I'd have to buy into a dedicated host with 128gb of ram lol

This needs looking at I think

I've even had reports of item duping on containers in peoples house they lay on the ground with items inside due to the ram count probably?

Op asked for 2 people.

For 10, you’ll need at least 8 gb.

Still don’t get how you’re getting 128 gb when 18 gb should be about the cap for 32 players, sans mods.

Like I said I have screens of mod devs ranting about their servers needing over 100gb of ram due to a leak.

I had 9 people on last night using 9gb and everyone was having doors open randomly even if they didnt touch them, loot lagging in containers and duping, gates not opening for others but they can pass through them like having no-clip. Cars desyncing into eachother more often(rip engine parts and headlights..)

Unless you can run a 10 man local hosted world on 10-12gb with no issues I honestly dont wanna hear it from you, seeing as you're a dev and should see some of these issues happening commonly.

Also note I am running a Vanilla world.

I also remember somewhere you said it takes at least 2gb for a basic host to be established including yourself in the game and any player added after was 700mb worth. But here you say 10 players is fine for 8gb?

9 players at 9gb was giving me hell lol

I ran our internal mp tests and did server profiling for the last two years as we developed build 41.

That included servers with greater than 64 players before we reduced the cap.

I haven’t had to have a massive 128 gb server since 2016.

Then clearly you missed the mark on this latest build stability tests. Im sorry.

I'd also like to ask what hardware you ran those internal tests on. Because right now on public local machines with varying hardware we are having tons of desync issues, duping and chunk errors.

We are either forced to buy dedicated servers or build dedicated server boxes in house with high end hardware and tons of ram to get the quality we'd like at then we'd have issues still but those separate issues are solved in future patches.

What we have right now is major instability. Without mods.

Time to go find something else to do and wait then. Devs arent going to hotfix this for you just because you asked. They released a newsletter about their stance when releasing B41. Get over it.

but you did miss incredibly common issues running any kind of servers for this build 41. explain that. most people are having the same exact issues with this build. almost certain due to the game still being built on java which causes endless issues.
