Click Host>Manage Settings>Create New Settings. Here you can name the settings what you prefer then click next. The first menu you will see will ask about a port and public name. You don't have to change anything but if you would like you can change the name and description. As the host you only really need to worry about the Players Tab under the INI section. The devs have provided detailed descriptions of what each option does so if you are looking for something in particular read the description of each option to see if it does what you're looking for.
Sandbox settings
Under the Sandbox section is where you change how to game will operate. ie how fast the zombies are, do cars spawn, the spawn rate for food/weapons/medical/books/etc., helicopter events, everything. Remember to save your preset when you're done. Massive time saver
You shouldn't need more than 4GB of RAM for your server.
This last part is important as the host. Now that you have your settings, load your server and create your character. Once your character has spawned in press "ESC" then click "Invite Friends". For the friends you want to play with click the "Disallow" button next to their name. It should say in green "Allow". Now just invite your friends with the invite button
Those joining can join from your profile or with an invite.
These settings are not for those looking to port forward a server
+1. I have played the game solo. Yesterday I tried coop and the zombies were already banging on my door. While when I went solo it gave me a breather.
Which settings do I need to adjust so it will be more like a solo play?
If you're asking how to turn down their spawns it's quite simple. Change the population count to "Low" or "Very Low" then under the Advanced Zombie Properties (should be at the bottom) and adjust the population multiplier to about 0.3. If it seems they are too low change the 0.3 to 0.35 or 0.4. It took me a while before I found my ideal settings
Great intel! Will the population get bigger further in the game? Or will it stay the same?
A little off topic question if you don't mind. When I play solo or/and duo's. Which beta version do I need to use? I used Legacy 41_61 multiplayer for both so far because I thought it would be the latest version. What is your opinion.
I play duo and me and my buddy don't use any beta version. I'd say you're fine using 41.65, the latest version
I dont remember it being incredibly difficult to set up at all. the only part that initially confused me was how many gigs of my ram i could use. Only because the game doesnt really tell you what option on that is optimal and defaults to like 4 gigs and just gives you a bunch of other options. But other than that setting up a local game isnt that hard from what i remember.
