Infected scratch?
Have a scratch that is now infected. Does that mean zombification? Game over? Or is it just a normal infection?

Game will never tell you if you are infected with the zombie virus

It won't tell you directly, but if you have the zed virus you will become upset and anxious, as well as have your hp drop down until you are dead.

Yea you'll never be sure until you die.
ps- Remember to store your bags before you die, or you may loose it if you choose to continue your current game.

I've had many infected scratches/lacerations, survived pretty much all of them...as long as you take the proper precautions, you should survive them

If you have a wound that got infected, you might as well just die. Alternative? Eat antibiotics, and even then you will get sick. You can counter this by Eating quiet a lot (to have the bar filled and get the heal buff) but beware : Eating to much results in a negative effect that lowers healing (thus you might as well get phase 2 of your sickness, wich is quiet the gameplay killer (basicaly your common flue hits, and we all know it can take DAY'S to cure this, given we only are in the 80's to 90's there, you will be disabled for some time as you , basicaly, need to stay at home and do as little work as posible)

Game is a good degree of realistic soooo alway's carrie desinfected scrap's with you to counter this (and instantly change when they get dirty) so you wont get infected wounds
