help with my fear ;-;

I need help, I really want to play Project Zomboid but I'm terrified of zombies, I can't play because of my fear of them, is there any mod, tips or something that can help me? ; -; :c

The only person that can help you with said 'fears' is a licensed therapist that specializes in phobias. Weird that you would fear a reanimated corpse. But like I said [phobias] is something a therapist should discuss with you, not people online who dont know anything personal about you or your mental well being.

I would hate to see mods take away the brutality of this game. I do not think you will find such mods. Infact the only mod I have found that re-skins the zombies is one that makes them look more horrifying.

I was super terrified of zombies in games when I started Zomboid too but after playing it for a while I can easily face 4 zombies coming my way.
I think the best advice and what helped me was to just play. Adjusting the settings to make them less of a threat for your first run is also good idea. Sneaking constantly also eased my nerves a littler early on.

You kinda have to look at it like practising though, it wont get better unless you try. You kinda just have to force yourself in the beginning sometimes, and you just wont get used to them unless you are faced by them.

But if its seriously enough of a debilitating phobia for you, I don't think this game is for you sadly. I do hope you can get into it though!

If you start a game in "Sandbox", you can eliminate or reduce the number of zombies. You can also make them slower, weaker, stupider, etc.

You can also disable blood/gore altogether.

i think by "fear" of zombies he meant its scary to face danger alone
because it is you against the world, and there is literally NOT even single npc or hope for survival
Some people have the same feeling but they describing this as "getting bored"
I think its more of fear, that not necessary have to do with the zombies, but with going out there and you will face noone but them, not even animals or any other creatures, even tho you can hear occasionally gun shots, screams or wolf howls
Ill recommend you to play with friends, or MP even if playing solo, to have that though, that you not alone
Yes, its video gaming and all that, some people just run and gun and playing it as arcade, some people have more sensitive nature, and it has nothing to do with :balls: or other stereotypes
This game tho, having outstanding atmosphere of absence of hope and depression, unless you break in to police department with ammo set on high :)
