impossible to move "zomboid" folder on linux?

really cant be having a "zomboid" folder in my home directory but none of the launch options nor any info ive read online says how to redirect this folder creation to somewhere else (on linux) - anyone have any clue?

Why does it matter if it's in your home directory? Just move it wherever you want and create a symbolic link.

use these launch options to move the cache folder.

-Duser.home="/path/to/cache" -cachedir="/path/to/cache"

This will move the "zomboid" folder to where ever you point it.

thank you! unfortunately the folder is still getting created in my home folder - but now every other file is being sent to the cache folder i specified. now it still creates the 'zomboid' folder in my home directory, but it only contains the 'projectzomboid.sh.log' file. the log does show the args getting loaded and used - just going through it now to see if there's any insight into why it wont move this file

OK, i got it, so if anyone is ever trying to move the "zomboid" folder from the home directory (on linux) and the above launch options aren't working for you - go to your 'steamapps/common' folder location and open the 'ProjectZomboid' folder and you should see "projectzomboid.sh", open that file and edit the line:
GAMEDIR="${HOME}/Zomboid"
to wherever you want the Zomboid folder to go - and then still use the above launch options as well
