What is your preferred weapon ? devs/players

Since the game has been popping up pretty nicely, it's time to have a small talk. Let's begin with a question : What kind of weapon are you into ?. I did also mention devs into the title cause I'm pretty sure they also play the game

According to the game that would usually be Unarmed since I always kill with boot if I can spare the time.

My favorite actual weapon is either pipe wrench (makes a nice meaty ping when you hit zeds with it, love it) or the night stick. I usually go short blunt weapons because metal pipes are so plentiful if you do metalwork at all.

I generally prefer all the Short Blunt weapons. My favorite build easily handles things with a point in it from Mechanic profession. It takes a bit of time to become deadly with them, but there's just so much of it all over the place that its not really an issue.

Pipe Wrenches are more enduring choice, while Metal Bars are more powerful and easily obtainable from certain salvage, albeit less durable. Other than that, different types of hammers are very common industrial loot, so that you'll never find yourself without a handy auxiliary belt weapon.

Axes. With a mid level axe skill they start to one shot frequently. You get a choice of hand axe which allows you to carry another backpack in your off hand or a standard axe you use with two hands that has extra reach. They are also found stuck in wandering zombies on occasion which allows you to replenish your stock. Worse case scenarios you can also craft a stone axe.

Second would be spear followed by short blade at third.

Long blunts, chiefly, my trusty crowbar (old faithful) or the awesome metal baseball bat when I can find one. All good for obtaining undamaged gear.

Any of Madax's tactical axes, knives, swords or machetes if I'm looking to just go ham and start butchering my way through town.

If I find "Silents Maxim 9", I like sneaking up and executing the ones who are sitting down and chilling on the floor without alerting their mates who are close by...it feels like justice.

I know all but the crowbar are mods, but they are all fun as Heck.

For me depends on the Luck of the Draw, but if i had to choose probably the Kanabo from Antique Armory for a melee weapon. For ranged weapons Sig-Sauer P220 from Britas for Sidearms, and either the Galil or AR-18 for Rifles, also from Brita, last two based on the easily available Ammo 308 Nato or 5.56 respectively, also folding stocks and good stats.

That said as a day to day workhorse i'd probably either go with one of the Ruger Revolvers from Brita's cause you can shoot 357 and 38 with them like irl, or some standard 9mm like a beretta, not great, not bad either, lots of ammo. Any .223 Rem rifle will also do, since you seem to find a metric f ton of that with Britas.

in real life hammers are the most common weapon used in murder, or so the Germans would have us believe.

I can never actually bring myself to actually use a hammer as a weapon in-game, even if there are five or six back at base because I'm all like "if I use it now, I might not have one later. Better use this lead pipe/wooden mallet/plunger instead, because it has no other use."

Seconding the police batons: at least in Rosewood, police zombies spawn pretty regularly, so I can accumulate a bunch of them.

Hammer, you can find one everywhere, they don't break easily and deal some good damage. Plus one handed weapons allow me to carry an additional bag for more loot. They are not the best weapon overall but you don't always get the choice, which can make them the best weapon available.

Spear with knife is my new favorite. Very easy to obtain and has insanely high one-hit rate, and won't let me covered in rotten blood and flesh.
