Molotov + Matches do not work

I looked on the wiki and from discussions online. From what I have seen, you can use matches on molotovs. However, even when I have the molotov in one hand [primary], and matches in the other [secondary], it refuses to light. I do not know if there is false info being spread on google, or if this is a bug. All I know is that my only chance to reclaim my safehouse was lost due this, and I have to start all over.

Your character is probably left handed. You need to equip matches in primary, and Molotov in secondary.

Odd that the Wiki mentions you can. Again, not sure if it's a bug, or if the wiki, and google is incorrect.

Yeah, don't trust the wiki, it's full of outdated and outright wrong info.

Well, on the Molotov Cocktail page it says that you need a lighter. The Matches page was likely copy&pasted from the Lighters page, so it's incorrect.

you need a lighter in one hand and a molotov in the other hand to use it.

Sorry for necroing this but on my game I can`t use molotovs. No matter what I try... matches or lighter on the other hand. Nothing works. My character keeps punching the air with the molotov even with the lighter on the other hand. Terrible.

Equip Molotov in primary, lighter in secondary. Hold RMC button, move the aiming reticule-thingie with the mouse, LMC to throw. If this doesn't work - do you have any mods?

Yes. I tried exactly that and the character keeps trying to hit with the molotov. Do I need to hit F to light the lighter before holding the RMB? It's the only thing I didn't try so far, thinking it would be automatic.
