Regarding A Really CD DA
Venting after my 50th failed attempt. A majority of my starts in this challenge the fire completely surrounds my character, and I end up having to restart a few times before I get a run where I'm even able to leave the building. If I finally make it one house over (which probably constitutes 1% of my attempted runs), they manage to hear me cough inside from in the woods a mile away. It just seems to me like the only way to beat this after this last update is to restart until A) The bathroom isn't on fire, and B) There happens to be a tissue in the cabinet- not to mention the fact that being in a burning building doesn't seem to warm you up at all.

It's not supposed to be a fair mode. Yes, the fire burning you alive before you even get to start is annoying. But, at least that happens within the first 30 seconds and you're not really losing anything in the process. You can sometimes jog through flames without taking damage. When I play CDDA, I usually just do my best to kill a single zombie, put on their shoes, and then walk in circles around the house while screaming to lure everything in the area and burn them up. This usually gives you a tiny window of time to loot the surrounding houses. But staying in the starting area for long will get you killed. Either stick around to get the bare essentials, or get some shoes and book it south to the houses along the road that leads outta Muldraugh.

the CDDA challenge is not for the feint of heart, loot is few and zombies have much better hearing and vision.
knowing the map goes a long way into surviving the initial days, knowing a place you can roughly guess what loot it has helps a ton and only IF the loot gives you what you need
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2622946765 It is possible but ofc hard- but also funny! 43 Minutes survived- think im a tasty snack, but also not easy to catch lol

Apart from my coop game, lately I always play CDDA. 9 times out of 10 you can always get out safely.

Get what you can from the kitchen, get the curtains out of the living room, get the glass out of your groin with your bare hands, and bandage yourself.

Go to the house below and get what you can, and then make your way to the north house, you will lose all zombies while crossing the woods.

I even managed to survive one week with slow healer, and starting with the broken leg trait from more traits, although hunger got me when I was about to get healed and ready for looting more, but had bad luck getting a can opener and did not get no herbalist trait.

My last 2 runs lasted over a month (got cocky), and now I am in my third but without much time to play, at day 20 or so, living in north west point and with a good condition car in the garage (had to get gas from other cars, tires, and a working battery).

Yyou should leave the house immediately. Dont know it there should be now new stuff in the house. But as I played it- there was nothing useful to catch. No time to loot- the fire will be too soon all around and the Zmbies will catch you if you waste time.
Try to hide in the other houses around. At some point they will lose you for ma short time.

Try not to make too much noises- they hear you pretty fast and get you. Moving is the first and main thin to stay alive.
When they are too much- walk with them. Try to hold the (near) distance. Walk circles with them, so they dont lose you too fast and you them out of your view. You have to know, where you can go and where they are.

With that I could survive over the time.

I'd leave the city as soon as possible unless you are experienced in high pop playthroughs.

Forget about hiding anywhere with the nasty cold, you just to move to low pop areas to cure it, or get ready to fight a lot, and is not a thing until you are out of the initial danger.

With a little luck u can run through the fire without getting burned, sometimes. I'm always able to loot the spawn house a little, if u get a lucky start and able to kill 1 or 2 and get to adjacent house, whilst picking up some clothing, u can get rid of cold in half a day. Good luck.

Oh wel,.. I left and was like a bliz right in the next house. Than in the next to get some air with the following zombies. But it worked so far. Ofc you get cold in the night, but better to get burned. lol
Try soon to leave the litle city on thief 'shoes'- tried not to make too much noises ofc. It helps a bit.

I tried to loot first times- but there was nothing really useful. So I let me burnt and start again.

I absolutely love this challenge despite being bad at it. A LOT of it seems to be RNG. Especially with the starting fire, like you're experiencing. It really is a matter of just restarting over and over until you get lucky. I try to find pants, a shirt and at least some sneakers then just head north to the farm. Sometimes there's a camp area set up just before it with lots of food, dead zombies and free clothing as well as hiking bags. The problem is the farm itself is almost always barren, no food or anything useful.

As much as I love CDDA, it's not really worth playing unless you just want to meme. Zombie counts are insane, as well as respawn rates are super high. You'll never ever be "safe" like in normal games, and after a while that just gets boring.

Most of the time fire will not be a problem. If the exit path is blocked just pick the table up and then drop it, that solves it most of the time.

Also, there is a another farm besides the north farm, and a very accesible cabin at the south. For CDDA I always pick the lucky trait, it really makes a difference.

I also play with respawn off, and I am enjoying despite the incredibly high zombie count.
