Is there a quick way to get nails?

I'm about three months into my current game and am trying to expand the defenses of my base, but have hit a bottleneck when it comes to nails. I've already cleared out the warehouses and stores in the town (I'm in Muldraugh). Lately I've taken to disassembling all the furniture in the outer houses to get nails (as well as carpentry and electronics xp), but that isn't very fruitful.

If possible, I'd rather not have to go to one of the other cities to raid for nails.

disassemble beds and tables, they usually yield the most nails (and planks) but otherwise its up to lady luck

Playing with a higher loot spawn rate can help as well, though not really helpful for your current playthrough. I just feel default spawn rates for many of those difficulties are too low.

drive to westpoint there is a small tool store with a good amount of nail boxes

You could also check closets, sheds and garages in and around homes for boxes of nails.
