Being able to forage "junk" like magazines, guns and ammo already makes it better. They just need to tweak how the vision stuff works, and so on. Make it perfect. And probably add sandbox options to increase how much forage loot spawns (extremely rare to abundant, etc) according to individual taste.
They'll get there!

You even can find car keys now that are hidden behind visual barriers (like cars)!
The only problem is that it is not complete and not balanced at all, like the stones that are extremely rare to find in a forest.
And there should be branches and sticks everywhere but it takes too long to gather them (also you only get exp if you either take or discard the items you find).
Compared to the old overpowered foraging system where you sit in one spot and "find" 30 berries its much harder yes but once the thing is balanced its much better than the "sit in one spot for 45 seconds -> find food for 15 days" system.
I get it, I can appreciate the work thats gone into it and see why a lot of people are going to like it. It's a really good idea that's a lot more realistic...but...Is there any chance that there'll please be an option to keep the old system on SP though?
I can spend maybe an hour and a half playing each day...I simply don't have the time to invest in wandering around the forest for hours on end and was more than happy with the old system.
