Can't open car trunks

I have the key to a car, I have unlocked all the doors, and I've even broken the rear windshield of the car. The trunk (and rear door in the case of vans) are both in good condition, yet I still cannot open the trunk. This has happened on numerous cars but not all of them. What is causing this? And how can I fix it so I can access the trunk?

Did you press the trunk unlock button when in the drivers seat? I forget to press it a lot of the time myself.

There is no trunk unlock button, only "unlock all doors" which I have tried

You can unlock the trunk by sitting in the drivers seat and clicking the "unlock trunk" button in the vehicle dashboard UI

You are absolutely right.. I had the same problem, and I didn't notice the little button in the vehicle dashboard, now it opens just fine.. Thank you!

Also some cars very rarely will have trunks that are not working, cannot be open etc.

The trunks or cargo-spaces of vehicles that have been crashed into from behind can be inaccessible. If there is no visible sign of crash-damage on the rear and using the truck-release from the driver's seat is failing, check the maintenance menu to see what the condition of the trunk is.

If the trunk/cargo is in good condition, there is no visible damage to it, and you still cannot open it, consider submitting a bug report with all the details of what you discovered here:
