How to start a co op session?
My partner and I are extremely new to this game but we heard it now has a multiplayer/co op mode but can’t figure out for the life of us how to set up a local co op game.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For local co-op you just need a controller and after starting a game push the A button and then select player 2. This will start splitscreen.

That's the thing, that isn't what we want. We have both of our computers right next to each other, we'd like to use our own PC's for this and not share a single PC, if that makes sense.

Go to your steam library, right click pz, go to it's properties, betas tab, select the b41 multiplayer branch.

Launch your game, select "Host", tweak the settings to your liking (at least 6gb of memory is recommended), launch the server, hit ESC, select "Friends" and invite your partner through that menu.

"launch the server, hit ESC, select "Friends" and invite your partner through that menu." are you talking about steam friends like shift + tab? cuz pressing escape after loading the server doesnt do anything.

hey, by join a game do you mean "solo"? I've been trying to play this with my wife and there have been issues with splitscreen

I would recommend a google search rather than Necro a 7 month old discussion thread about a different topic.

"local multiplayer via split-screen works and is a lot of fun! just press A on a new controller when you load into the game." -From reddit

The person you quoted told you exactly what to do. Start up a game and then press A on a new controller. No one said join a game, you have to start one.

Hi, which issues exactly? I´ve been able to use 4 players on the same PC but if 1 dies, I get a text bug, everything is "text-less" and the menu is a black-screen. It´s like the UI crashes but not the game itself

Bumping this thread to agree with you that necroing stuff is really annoying :)

Honestly I don't see the issue in necroing, the topic was discussed was close enough to the original discussion and I found it both useful and helpful.
Please do not necro a dead thread to complain about necroing in the future however, thank you.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
