How long can you exercise for?
I know you feel the effects 12 hours later where you kinda need to stay indoors, but if i keep sitting down to rest after workouts and drinking water, could i exercise literally all day and just do nothing the next day?

Fitness 5 Strength 7, should be able to get fitness to 6, the exp gains are ridiculously low tho, especially since it makes you useless the next day so you lose a day.

Also, how long can you do burpes for each day and not be useless the next day if you want to do a little every day?

The pain next day should become less severe the more the exercise's regularity bar is filled.
What I'd like to know is what's the quickest way to fill that bar?
Does exercise length matter or should my character stick to short exercies each day?

Yes, you can just exercise and then rest to your hearts content. Pain doesn't kill you as far as I'm aware. Exercising alot early is one way to get over the regularity bar hurdle as you are penalised for it being lower, it is definitely beneficial to spam it early and just eat the pain if you have the environment to allow that. I would also recommend trying squats out if you just want to train fitness as you can do that for at least 50-60 mins in your current state

If you do an exercise while watching the VHS "Simon's Fitness Club" for that exercise it'll fill the Regularity bar more. Also just doing the exercises regularly will fill the bar too

The pain phase starts about 12 hours after doing the exercises, so if you do all of your exercises 12 hours before you generally sleep and you will sleep through the pain phase entirely.

No sleep, on a multiplayer server with it disabled, so I am left with reading skill books the next day, or just dismantling more fences that a relatively close to me and stockpiling planks.. Just got carpentry to level 10 and blunt weapons to 8 and thinking of what to work on next.

Staying in your base most of the time lategame? And doing what? At that point there probably aren't any books to read. Playing the game for hours and doing nothing but eating and drinking seems a little unproductive. Shame farming takes a literal decade to grow anything for food, hurts when you cant sleep or fast forward on a multiplayer server.

Gains from exercise seem so low I think I might just not do it. Many wasted days and dozens of hours just to get a single level just to increase melle damage by 10%, in which time I could probably max out weapon proficiency and tailoring (if I could find a needle anywhere)

I am also trying to gain some xp on the fitness and strength and seen that the fastest way is to fight zombies while not carrying heavy load. not even fairly heavy load. Every hit on zombies that way will make you gain xp way faster compared to exercise. It is not the fastest way as you need to get close to zombies.
The more you train, the better or more you can exercise for, that may suit better for long gameplay but suit yourself.
can some1 explain the basics of this excercise feature? I feel I'm super lost with this one :S

What do you want to know? You click on your condition window, where you would apply bandage and stuff and there is a "fittness" button, press it and you get the option to train your body with sit ups etc. if you do it regulary the bar fills and you get more exp.

And 12 hours after you're done, you'll get an "exercise fatigue" condition on whichever limbs the exercise says it affects. It will give some minor pain, which will affect you less the more the regularity bar is full. So at the start, when the bar is lower, exercise 12 hours prior to when you plan to sleep, that way the fatigue only occurs while you're sleeping and won't affect your up time
yeah I was just dumb, didnt start until I put bagpack and weapon away :praisesun:

Protein. You might find trapping or fishing a useful source of protein to speed your gains up.
Also if you're spending all your time inside at the endgame you've made the game very boring. I find myself base locked when I decorate and move stuff around to make it look nice. short trips away from where you holed up is better if you manage to find a spot to fortify and use a temporary hide out.
