Keep world changes and bases after death

Yo, when you die is there some way to keep the world you were in along with your base and items?

It`s already how the game works..
You die, you press " New character ", you can go and loot your old character, which is now a walking corpse.

You can create a new character when you die in the same world. Then you can find your zombie and kill it (and use your base).

There is a mod that allows you to write a journal, that saves any completed skill levels and if you can get back to it you can read it and get those levels back./1

Otherwise, in vanilla PZ, your skill set starts over from your initial character build.
