I rent a Server.
I run the software off my streaming pc personally, not really all that hard or demanding, if you have a old quad core pc/laptop with 8gb or more ram and at least 3mbit upload, you can do the same for free.
just need to download the dedicated server files from your Tools list in your steam library(you launch it outside of steam though, otherwise you can't boot PZ) and follow a guide to get it running, should only take about 30 mins to setup
If i run a hostet Game via the Game itself its super easy to get admin access and i can manage some things.
Now we got a dedicated Server on 4Players running the Game with Mods etc. all work fine but i never see a option to make one of us to admin.
I am not really a "pro" setting up things, but all run fine except the usage of admins. I am really pissed about this, because i search google and search more and i find nothing. You trying me to help and i understand nothing what i have to do. Can it just be easy with a commandline in the Serversettings like: Setadmin "Username" and no black magic you try to say to me? :(
How it works for me is I have a big blacked out CMD prompt on my other pc, if I type /help it gives me a list of commands, from there I just typed /setaccesslevel myaccountname admin and it adds you to the list and you'll get the admin panel on the left side of the screen.
there isn't a option in the config to have it set someone as admin afaik, only from inside the dedicated server software.
Where do you rent it? I'm using GTXgaming and the admin password was set in a START_SERVER.bat file under configuration. Which was absolutely not at all how they said it would work in the hosts FAQ.
Where do you rent the server? The basic settings are on the host website where you manage your server, you can always access them.
After some try and error i used a third party programm for rcon and it finally works. Super complicated.. But thanks to everyone here.
If your using cmd there is no need for the /
I was on the same issue here and finding nothing on google search, your answer its close, but to commands work on Dedicated Server's CMD, you can't use the slashes and in game you need to use the it; Ty.
