Building a Bed
I have 2 pieces of a bed and its 1/2 and 2/2. So how do I combine them to make the bed complete?

make sure ur holding at least 1 piece in ur main inventory. click the box/furniture icon on the left of ur screen and "place" the bed. if u pick a valid spot, ull build it. if one piece is on the ground, make sure it's within reach or it won't work

How do you even get a bed? is it just chance by disassembling it?

Instead of disassembling, you should use the pick up option on the left side of the screen. That should break the bed down into the necessary parts.

Yes the Pickup on the left hand of the screen is amazing. I have a popsicle freezer and just like the bed comes in two parts. Toss one part on the ground and the other in main inventory then use put down.

I found a nice rain barrel at a bait shop and have that at my base now too. Also water coolers are great. Never even thought about picking up a bed, smh. Thankfully the house I started in already had a king size bed inside.

My biggest problem now is trapping and farming and grinding carpentry high enough to build stairs. Level 6 to build stairs seems ridiculous to me but oh well.
