Sack of Potatoes Usage?
Hey newish player here. I found some sacks of potatoes at Spiffo's and I was wondering how to open the sack of potatoes to get the potatoes inside? Tried searching the forums and wiki but have not found anything. Apologies if it is a super obvious thing but have not been able to figure it out. For now they are in my freezer as I await an answer.

If the item is actually called "Sack of Potatoes," then there should be a right-click option to open it. There's also a crafting recipe under General for "Open Sack of Potatoes." You get 12 potatoes and a sack.

Just drop the sack on the groudn and get them like from any other container. And don't worry, Project Zomboid is so complex in some areas, that you start overthinking things in others xd
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Do potatoes or other kinds of food last longer in those sacks?
I find a lot of these filled sacks sometimes but have no idea how to deal with them.
Should I put them in the fridge and eat as soon as I can or can I just store them for bad times?

Storing food in sacks is just a way to reduce their weight/transfer time. Treat potato sacks as you would the usual potatoes - that is, as long-lasting perishables (so like medium priority as far as when you should eat them).

Do pies last long before becoming stale?

They last yeah. Mixing the pie prep lasts, putting it into a pie dish, and the Adding ingredients to the uncooked pie. Cooked pie lasts about a week I think. You find the edible pie as some of the final non rotten fresh items. Usually the key lime pie and the cookies. Cake shop is the last to go. Some items go stale though.
You make the pie eat the whole pie get the tray back. Pie can be sliced aswell. So if pie was nearing expiry date it can be sliced

You know what else you can do with pie make a sweet or savoury pie. But to benefit not waste the sweet pie don’t slice it. Eat it 1/4 1/2 or whole. You slice up a bird meat pie since it wasn’t worth much to begin with. Sometimes you slice a pie just to get the tray back.
