questions on learning how to drive

I am terrible at driving in any game I've ever played, but I want to improve and learn how to drive in this game. Decided to make special save with settings so nothing disrupts my studies.
I already found how to turn zombies and carcrash damage off, are there any settings that can make it even easier besides easy cars checkmark?

Can you please give some advice on driving? (I've never ever been in driver seat and know almost nothing about cars in general)

I already know that driving outside roads is not good for that general normal looking nyala car, but are there cars which are more forgivable about offroad driving in this game? Cause I often cant keep on road when trying to turn.
Are there some nice big paved locations near starting towns?

Is there a way to drive really slow? I'll probably use sunday drivertrait that makes driving slow, but it can't be turned off, so I don't think it is a good idea for a save that haz zombie spawn on.
Can zombies catch up to a car driving on max sunday driver speed? I don't use sprinters.

This game only use WASD to drive. It is very easy. W to accel, A/D steer left/right, S to brake and reverse. Just play, you will get use to it quickly. Sunday trait is good if you want to learn, ur speed will be limited. Zombies won't catch you. They are slower than u think, even you just walk forward, zombie won't catch up.

Use shift plus w and s to set a cruis controll if u dont want limited to only 30mph.

Cant edit for some reason. Also sunday driver accels slow too. So if ur takin off in dirt and turning u wont go anywhere anytime soon and can get u killed

Is shiftW hardcoded? I remapped all tre controls from ctrl and shift - gotta try

I just learned that i dont have to push w constantly to get the car going, that changed a lot

Nope, you can steer with the arrow keys... that's how I do it.
