Wooden construction barrier = brick wall?
Was driving out of Louisville today after a few hours of trying to loot the mall (to no success), and on my way out I drove through the military checkpoint. Well, turns out those orange-and-white construction barriers are made of like titanium or something and welded to the ground, because I crashed into one doing 70 and my car stopped dead like it hit a brick wall. I'd assumed I could just run them over like most other small, weak objects. Got glass shards in my face, and my driver's-side window shattered, which of course meant that a lone zombie walked right up now that my engine was dead and bit me straight through the window. RIP my 3-month, 2-hour day length survivor. I'd be extremely frustrated at this point had I not backed up my save every couple of hours, but it still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is...those construction barriers really need to be destructible by vehicles. I'd assumed I might take a bit of damage hitting them like if you hit a garbage can at high speed, but didn't think my decent-condition pickup truck would completely stop, destroying all the front windows as well as the engine and getting me killed in the process!

Let this serve as a warning to any who enter or leave Louisville - those barriers are deadly.

Oh I luckily saw a meme on them before I could make that mistake. When I got too the checkpoint, I destroyed them with my sledgehammer. Those things deserve nothing else.

But, yeah, making them destructible sounds like a good idea.

Anarchist Jurisdictor - I'm aware of what a bollard is, I'm referring to "wooden construction barriers", dunno what they're actually called but punch that in on Google and you'll see what I mean.

cursed Jaeger - Part of why I was going to into Louisville was actually to FIND a sledgehammer. I'll be sure to smash those things into oblivion once I get back, that's for sure!

You can just pick them up and move them too if you want.

Chad1776 - I didn't stop, get out and move them because I assumed I could just run them over, like you can with most other small, weak objects. It's just not clear that they're actually completely solid, and since this was my first time encountering these objects (hadn't been to Louisville before) I find it very unfair that I was killed by something that everyone would assume could be safely run over. If this was my first experience playing the game, I'd also from that point on assume that I couldn't run over things like street pylons and maybe even zombies for fear of what happened here.

I've been playing this game since before even the Steam release and I still love it despite oddities like this, especially since the developers have been good about fixing weird stuff like this in the past. I'll just re-load my backup "in case of death by bugs" save and continue from there.
